Ergo Baby
The ergo is probably the most well known ergonomic carrier on the market. Easy to use and adjust and suitable from 7-45lbs (with infant insert). These are one of our most popular carriers. Although, some people don't like the infant insert and perfer to wait until their baby is big enough to use the carrier without. We have two of these carriers in the library a black original and a khaki organic. We also have one infant insert.
Manduca
The manduca is another popular carrier. Because it has more points of adjustment than most SSCs some people find they can get a better fit with it; although the downside is that it is then more work to switch between users. Personally, I find you can get a slightly more snug and therefore more comfortable fit on the back in a manduca but as with most carriers a lot of it is personal preference. We currently have one manduca in the library.
Lillebaby
The Lillebaby is less well known that either the Ergo or Manduca but I really like this carrier as it is so versitile without loosing the ease of use. Again it can be used from 7-45lbs but this carrier allows you to narrow the seat so it can be used easily with newborns and it also has a facing out option. We have four lillebabys in the library, one organic, one airflow (lightweight mesh) and two all seasons.
Connecta
The Connecta is a really lightweight FB or SSC and often people really like that about it. One of the unusual features of the Connecta as a SSC is the lack of rigid waist band. The close fit of the Connecta offers a different kind of support for babies and big heavy toddlers alike. Also, because it is made of a thin fabric panel it is easier to cinch the seat to use it legs out while babies are small. We have both a baby and a toddler sized connecta in the library.
Boba 3G
The Boba 3G fits between 7-45lbs. It has foot straps which can be attached to the waist belt for larger babies, this not only gives tired little legs a rest, but also supports the legs in a flexed abducted (froglike) position which naturally tilts the pelvis, fills out the hip sockets and aligns the spine. We have one Boba 3G in the library.
Rose & Rebellion
Rose & Rebellion are a lovely UK based company. They are a small ethical company and create beautiful SSCs which have well padded straps and have a unique 3 part fully integrated waistband for comfort, security and lumbar support. Every Baby Carrier is also reversible to a plain black. We have just one baby sized R&R in the library.
